Jaguar Reserve In The Cockscomb Basin

Your tour begins about 7:30am. You will travel by van to the Maya Center along the Southern Highway then turn west and travel the Jaguar Reserve road into the Cockscomb Basin.

From the park entrance you will hike along trails into the highlands of the Belize rainforest near Victoria's Peak, the highest mountain peak in Belize.

Jaguar Reserve Tour

Along the hike trail you will learn to track the paw prints of the Jaguar and other fauna of the rainforest; learn various species of animals, insects & plants, including the medicinal plants that are still used in Belize today.

Hear the story of how the Maya culture evolved differently in the region compared to the lowland Maya of the western and northern regions of Belize. You can also swim under the waterfall and go river tubing. And for bird watchers, this trip is a delight!

You will return by van to Placencia around 3:30pm. This tour has a medium difficulty.
